ASSP Sept 2022 – Kevin Deitsch

National Weather Service Storm Spotter Training.

Objectives – to equip volunteers with the knowledge of severe weather and how it forms, how to report severe weather, and how to stay safe from the many weather hazards we see here in Missouri.

Bio – Kevin is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service in St. Louis, MO. The National Weather Service is responsible for the protection of public life and property of the American people through the issuance of weather forecasts, watches, and warnings. In Kevin’s specific role, he acts as the liaison between the National Weather Service and external partners in the St. Louis area. Kevin works hand in hand with emergency managers, law enforcement, school officials, and department of transportation officials to ensure they have the weather information they need to keep the community safe from hazardous weather.
